Valentines Day at the Lara's

Otis and I surprised the kids with a Valentines Day Breakfast. We decorated the table and made heart shaped pancakes. Then the kids got dressed for their school Valentines day party. This year Briana said it was too babyish to wear a cute Valentines shirt but she wore a silly heart headband that has flashing lights(??) I guess that is the cool 6th grade thing to do. And of course Braiden is still trying to figure out why they don't make Valentines Day shirts for boys? So he wore red, that's as close as it gets. Then there's my cute Brooke who will wear whatever her Mommy picks out. Unfortunately Brooke woke up with an ear infection (she doesn't look to happy). I took her to the doctors and then to her first school Valentines party late.

We Thank Thee Oh God For A Prophet!

It has been over a week now since we have heard of the passing of our dear Prophet, President Gordon B. Hinckley. What a great man he was and still is. Our family will be forever greatful for his acts of love and service. His challenge a few years ago to get the members of the church to read the book of Mormon in a month challenged my family to be more consistant in reading the scriptures. Although, we fell short and did not quite complete the task, we have been reading together every morning since his challenge. His guidance lead our family down the right path. I will forever be greatful for this. He was a sweet man with a great sense of humor and the kind of love that could be felt by all. The picture above depicts what I invision of him now, with his sweet wife Marjorie for eternity.

Busy weekend at our house!

It was a busy weekend! With both the Super Bowl and the FBR, PGA tour being held in Phoenix.
Since golf and football are our families favorites we couldn't help but to take part in both. Braiden and Otis went to the NFL experience outside the Super Bowl Stadium. Us girls decided that the boys would appreciate some time doing boy stuff.

They spent the evening fixated on football.

They Participated in various football themed activities.
They Visited the NFL Hall of fame!
Braiden was on the look out for his favorite NFL players for autographs but to no avail. Nevertheless they had a great time!

Then it was time for the FBR!

We went as a family to the last day of the FBR/PGA Tour.
It was an exciting golf game! Check out the link below.

The crowds where big and believe it or not when the "Quiet Please" signs where not up there was a lot of cheering!
Not the greatest picture(me with my eyes closed) but we didn't have many to choose from since we weren't allowed to take pictures during the tournament.

This was on the last hole just before JB Holmes tied it up!

This was the Thunderbirds (Tornamant sponsors) presenting a 1.8 million dollar check to the winner!

Otis and Braiden on TV at Final Winning Shot of FBR PGA tour

Click on the link below, it will take a few seconds to load. You will actually be watching a short FEDX commercial while it loads (funny commercials). Then you will notice Braiden standing right next to the rope next to the kid in the bright orange shirt. You will also notice Otis's head right above Braidens. It was an exciting game of golf, it ended up being tied at the end, JB Holmes and Phil Mickelsen. This was the shot that sent them into sudden death. JB Holmes is a 21 year old who is now 1.8 million dollars richer today.
